PhD CHAIGNEAU

LEGOS/IRD

My research focuses on the study of large-scale ocean dynamics, mesoscale processes, and lagoon and estuarine systems. My work, which is also multidisciplinary, has been mainly conducted in partnership with Southern countries (Chile, Peru, Benin, Gabon).
With more than 14 years spent in South America and sub-Saharan Africa, I have a broad experience of multicultural collaborations.
I have led various national and international scientific and technical programs.
I am currently working both on the dynamics of the tropical Atlantic Ocean and on a Beninese lagoon observatory. I also have extensive academic experience (teaching, coaching), administrative experience (project management, scientific committees) and am co-leader of a university Master's degree.
